Nintendo Switch Online Adds Donkey Kong and Mario’s Picross to Game Boy Library

Nintendo Switch Online continues to expand its Game Boy catalog, bringing Donkey Kong (1994) and Mario’s Picross (1995) to subscribers on March 7. These classics join an ever-growing collection of nostalgic titles, allowing players to relive the golden era of handheld gaming on modern hardware.

Classic Game Boy Titles Join the Lineup

The Game Boy, released in 1989, became one of the best-selling consoles of all time, with legendary titles like Pokémon Red & Blue, DuckTales, and Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3. Now, Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can enjoy yet another pair of beloved games from the handheld era.

  • Donkey Kong (1994): A reimagining of the 1981 arcade classic, this version adds over 100 puzzle-platforming levels, expanding on Mario’s quest to rescue Pauline from the clutches of Donkey Kong.
  • Mario’s Picross (1995): A nonogram puzzle game, where players use logic to reveal pixel-art images. This unique Mario title became a cult favorite and led to later Picross spin-offs, including versions featuring Pokémon and The Legend of Zelda.

These additions join other iconic Game Boy titles already available to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, including:
